WOW “Partnership with Weidmuller and Cablecraft significantly contributes towards effective and efficient running of UK rail industry.

awards-header-update

We are really excited about Amey being shortlisted in the Rail Asset Security category of the UK Rail Industry Awards, taking place tomorrow, 20th February, at the Brewery in Covent Garden, London and organised by Rail Technology Magazine. The awards seek to recognise the achievements of organisations making a significant contribution to the effective and efficient running of the UK rail industry.

Network Rail commissioned Amey to renew two level crossings at Llanelli in South Wales.  Amey worked in close partnership with Weidmuller and Cablecraft to deliver a solution that not only brought the level crossings up to modern standards for MCB–Obstacle detection, (to detect objects, vehicles or people on the crossings before a train approaches, thereby reducing theft and vandalism), but which encompassed new ways of terminating cables, as well as delivering a better way of isolating the level crossing battery to make maintenance easier and safer.
